About Groundwork

Groundwork is an online platform based in the Philippines that helps people connect with independent, licensed engineering professionals for paid consultation sessions. Groundwork facilitates the booking, scheduling, and payment for these sessions.

Groundwork itself is not an engineering firm and does not directly provide engineering, design, or construction services. Every consultation is delivered by an independent licensed professional. See our Scope & Limitations page for a full explanation of what a consultation session does and doesn't include.

Booking a Consultation

To book a session, you complete the booking form with accurate details about yourself and your project, choose a session type, select a preferred date and time, and complete payment. Your selected schedule is a request, and is confirmed once payment is verified and you receive a confirmation email.

Session types, durations, and fees are shown on the website at the time of booking and may change from time to time.

Payments, Rescheduling, and Cancellations

All fees shown at checkout are VAT-inclusive and payable in full at the time of booking. Payment is completed through Maya, a licensed third-party payment service provider — you will be redirected to a secure Maya-hosted payment page to pay via QR Ph or another method Maya makes available. Your booking is confirmed once Maya confirms your payment. An official receipt is issued for each paid session.

You may reschedule your session once, free of charge, with reasonable advance notice. Sessions are not refunded for no-shows, as the time slot is reserved specifically for you. Requests outside of this policy will be handled on a case-by-case basis — contact us using the details below.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, complete, and truthful information about yourself and your project.
• Attend your scheduled session on time, or reschedule in advance if you are unable to attend.
• Use any information or guidance you receive for lawful purposes only.
• Understand that the usefulness of the guidance you receive depends on the accuracy and completeness of the information you provide.

Role of the Engineering Professional

Consultations are delivered by independent licensed engineering professionals. These professionals exercise their own independent professional judgment during each session and are personally responsible for the advice and guidance they give.

Groundwork does not supervise, direct, or guarantee the professional advice given during a session. Our role is limited to facilitating the connection, booking, and payment for the consultation.

Acceptable Use

• Do not use Groundwork for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
• Do not misrepresent your identity or the nature of your project.
• Do not attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the website or its systems.
• Do not copy, scrape, or reuse the website's content for commercial purposes without permission.

Intellectual Property

The Groundwork website, including its design, text, and branding, is the property of Groundwork and may not be copied or reused without permission. Any written summary provided to you after your session is for your own personal or project use.

Disclaimers

Consultations provided through Groundwork are general professional guidance based on the information you share during the session. They are not a substitute for a formal engineering engagement, a signed and sealed set of plans, a site inspection, or any other service not explicitly included in your booked session — see our Scope & Limitations page for details.

Groundwork makes no guarantee about the outcome of your project, the accuracy of guidance given, or that any guidance will be accepted by any contractor, lender, or government authority.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Groundwork and its officers, employees, and affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform or a consultation session. Our total liability for any claim relating to a booked session is limited to the amount you paid for that session.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to Groundwork for anyone who violates these Terms or misuses the platform. You may stop using Groundwork at any time.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Groundwork after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the appropriate courts of the Philippines.
